Summer is almost over and my son has gone back to school as of this past Thursday. We had a great holiday. Granted he and I spent most of our summer playing video games, but we did venture out every now and then (when it wasn’t too hot) and had a little fun.
But the past two days of back to school hasn’t gone so well. He really did not want to go back. I thought he’d be all for it since he’d seemed kind of bored most of the summer with no kids to play with. I figured he’d wanna see his friends, get out of the house and be glad he finally had something more productive to do every day, because let’s face it, third grade is still semi-fun & games. The teacher’s make it entertaining for the kids to learn… ^^;
I didn’t take photos because my camera pretty much said “Fuck this shit…” and my son was very upset.
It wasn’t like that at all. We cried, we kicked and grunted and we sat in the bathroom for twenty minutes grumbling and cursing the school’s very existence. We even forgot how to tie our shoes (which was really due more to the fact that he’d spent the whole summer in sandals). For two days. And probably again on Monday. He’s not entirely shiny to change (which is probably part of this) but I’m hoping our mornings go better next week. Because he’s fine when he gets there and he’s in class.
His birthday is in two weeks as well, but it kind of sucks that they no longer allow parties and the like because of parents being entirely against cupcakes and fat kids. *shakes head* But please don’t lecture me on that whole spiel when commenting because I honestly don’t care. Kthnxbai~
It’s only the first couple days and I think it’ll get better. I can’t be the only mother going through this in the morning
